Yet, in a recent interview on the Mic On Podcast with Seun Okinbaloye, she firmly rejected the idea, reaffirming her loyalty to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) amidst its ongoing internal struggles. When asked if she would consider the APC as a fallback option if the PDP’s issues persist, Akpoti-Uduaghan responded with unwavering conviction, “No, I wouldn’t. Unsatisfied with the results, she petitioned the election tribunal, which, in September, nullified Ohere’s win and declared her the rightful victor with 54,074 votes, surpassing Ohere’s 51,291.
While she remains committed to the PDP, Akpoti-Uduaghan acknowledged that if the party fails to resolve its leadership crisis by 2027, she might be forced to explore other platforms. “If I decide to contest again and the PDP is still in disarray, I’ll need just a month to choose a new platform.
