Jacob & Co.'s World's Fastest Tourbillon: The God of Time (2026)

Jacob & Co. has just unveiled the world's fastest tourbillon, a masterpiece of horological engineering. The watch, aptly named the God of Time, boasts a groundbreaking tourbillon that spins at an astonishing four seconds per rotation, making it five times faster than traditional one-minute tourbillons. This innovation not only sets a new record but also surpasses the Franck Muller Thunderbolt by a full second, solidifying its position as the world's fastest tourbillon. With a 60-hour power reserve on a single wind, it's the ultimate weekend companion.

This remarkable creation is the brainchild of Jacob & Co., a New York-based watch and jewelry maker renowned for their tourbillon expertise. They've developed the new JCAM60 caliber from scratch, specifically to challenge the boundaries of tourbillon speed. The key to this achievement lies in the tourbillon carriage's design, which reduces energy consumption through extreme weight reduction. Crafted primarily from titanium, the carriage weighs a mere 0.27 grams, enabling it to reach speeds 15 times faster than the classic 60-second tourbillon. A constant force system further enhances protection, allowing just the right amount of energy to reach the balance wheel.

The God of Time is not just a technical marvel; it's a visual masterpiece as well. The movement is visible through a sapphire bridge, revealing an aventurine slab beneath the carriage that creates a starry backdrop. The balance wheel is adorned with eight gold weights, and the hairspring features a Breguet overcoil, adding to its aesthetic appeal. The watch's dial showcases a miniature rose-gold sculpture of Chronos, the ancient Greek god of time, measuring 37 mm in length. Engraved by hand, Chronos displays an extraordinary level of detail, from his hair and muscles to his toga and fingernails.

The 44.25 mm rose-gold case, inspired by ancient Greek temples, features architectural lines that mimic Ionic pillars. The caseband and crown are ribbed, and the caseback reveals the founder and chairman, Jacob Arabo's, signature on a blued sapphire crystal, marking his 60th birthday. Limited to 60 pieces, the God of Time is a celebration of horological history, offering both speed and style. The price is available upon request, and it's a watch that will undoubtedly attract attention and admiration.
