A unique wedding dress shop in Huddersfield, West Yorkshire, is celebrating its first anniversary. The Holmfirth Bridal Suite, located on the top floor of the Forget Me Not Children's Hospice, offers brides a chance to find their dream dress at a fraction of the cost. The shop is the brainchild of former seamstress Sharon Scott, who wanted to provide brides with an affordable and memorable shopping experience. Since its launch in February 2025, the boutique has gained a reputation for its extensive collection of pre-loved and donated wedding dresses, ranging from £50 to £750. The most expensive dress was originally priced at £3,000. Sharon's passion for the hospice's work, which was inspired by a colleague's child receiving care there, has driven the shop's success. Lauren Crossley, a bride-to-be, was moved by the hospice's work and chose her dress from the shop, referring others to the charity the same day. The Holmfirth Bridal Suite is crucial to the hospice's funding, as it provides an opportunity to sell pre-owned wedding dresses and generate more money for the charity. The shop's unique concept and community response have made it a special place for brides and a vital source of income for the hospice.
